Second Month of Internship
Things are starting to pick up pace. We have finalised the API design and endpoints. Working with DynamoDB is quite painful as a query can be quite long as opposed to using an ORM. It is also quite difficult to set up the test environments, was initially struggling to create the tables with the GSIs, but luckily managed to resolve it in time.
Sam’s been quite busy with his HDB project and barely has time for us. Most of the time, we take the initiative to approach him on the next steps to take. That has unfortunately resulted in PRs being blocked and the working branches quickly diverged.
It’s about the halfway point in the internship, and I think the frontend is also almost complete, and all there’s left to do is to deploy the application to the cloud, as well as to integrate the AWS SDK for the WAF integration. But I think that will be quite a hectic task, even more so for the setting up of the applications to even test the APIs.
However, I remain optimistic and believe that we can complete this project before the end of the my internship stint. Let’s go!
