First Month of Internship

How My First Month of Internship Went

It’s about the one month mark since I have started out at GovTech.

I think it has been pretty fulfilling so far. Having to just soley focus on the project is also a liberation, as that means dealing less with people and meetings. I haven’t really had the opportunity with interact with other fellow interns, so will see there are ample opportunities in the coming months. Learning DynamoDB was very interesting as it was not the usual relational database and the single table design makes queries interesting, yet complex at the same time.

I think our progress has been good so far, less the CodeCommit part, where I think it is so cumbersome to have to work with it, due to the security credentials needed to login through SSO each time. I think we will be done with the API development within the next week or so.

School has also started, but since I’m just taking a single module, and working with friends I am familiar with, so I don’t think there will be many issues with that. I’m going to try to work hard enough to at least have the decency to ask for the opportunity for a conversion, though the headcount is not optimistic currently.
